This week, the Magnolia Women’s Center received approval from Memorial Hospital to purchase a new ultrasound system for $19,300. This new system, the G.E. Versana Ultrasound System, will provide 3D and 4D ultrasounds like their current system, as well as enable doctors to see and diagnose things such as hemorrhages, among other conditions. This system is the same one used in the labor and delivery branch of Memorial Hospital.

“We’ve been researching this for about six months,” Dr. Jason Moye told the Post-Searchlight. The current ultrasound system has been in use for 10 years, and has since become outdated. “We feel like we owe it to the community to provide the best quality in clinical care,” he continued. “We have amazing patients and we want to provide them the best quality,” Kim Worek, R.N. said.

The new system is expected to arrive between the next week and a month.
