Patricia Ann Hurst Hinson, 73, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, in the company of her family at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021, 2 p.m., at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, Georgia. Interment will follow at Midway Cemetery. Rev. Andrew Donaldson will officiate. Pallbearers are: Lanon Clayton, Jimmy Clifton, Kyle Hurst, Rodney Hurst, David Moore, and Chason Newsome.

In accordance with State of Georgia guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending should maintain the recommended safe social distancing and to wear protective masks.

Patricia was born June 9, 1947, to Austin Homer Hurst and Annie Jane Shirah Hurst in Meigs, Georgia. She was the youngest of ten children. Patricia married and had two children: Denise R. Moore and LaDon Moore. In 1982, she married Robert Hinson and made their home in Cairo. Patricia retired from Mitchell EMC after 20 years of service. She enjoyed her job and the people she worked with. She dearly loved her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Robert Hinson; children, LaDon Moore of Miramar, Florida, Donald Hinson (Lori) Albany and Michael Hinson (Tammie) Braselton; sisters, Myrtice Williams, Thomasville, Geneva Nixon, Cairo, and M. Lee Clayton (Leonard) Whigham, Georgia; grandchildren, David Moore of Cairo, Lyndsey Richmond of Braselton, and Ian Hinson of Albany; and sister-in-law, Virdes Hurst and many beloved nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her parents; daughter, sister, Wilma Allen Benton; and brothers, Marlin, Wendel, Lester, Thomas, and Henry Hurst.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
