Senie Carolyn Griffin, 78, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Bainbridge, passed away Monday, February 14, 2021.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Webb officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Senie Carolyn Griffin was born October 27, 1942 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Wiley and Janet Steadham Griffin. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. Senie retired from Southwestern State Hospital after serving many years at Bainbridge State Hospital. She was a member of Bainbridge First Baptist Church.

Senie was a caregiver by nature. She spent her life caring for others, even taking early retirement to help raise her grandchildren. She was loyal and intelligent, keeping current with the happenings of the day. Senie loved plants and flowers and dreamed of having a yard full. Her laugh was unforgettable and filled the room with joy. Senie was known as the family connection. She was very involved with her family, extended family and always enjoyed a family reunion.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Anesia) Tankersley of Atlanta, Ga., Pamela Tankersley of Sebastian, Fla., Rachel Glass, Lydia Glass, and Wyatt Letchworth, all of Vero Beach, Fla.; her siblings, Don (Sarah) Griffin, Wiley Griffin III, Kay (Bill) Ragan, and Tim (Gina) Griffin; her grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Jacob, Jared, Taylor, and Justin; and her five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Senie was preceded in death by her son, David Tankersley; her brother, Doug Griffin; and her great-grandson, Braxton Givens.
