WQLI Radio Station is the main station aired in Mitchell County and is based in Bainbridge, Georgia. The station is part of Flint Media, Inc. and is owned by Kevin Dowdy. Jesus and Jammin’ is the morning show and hosted by Kevin Dowdy and Jay Palmer. The two-hour show is simulcast with several other sister stations. The show is heard not only in Southwest Georgia, but in the tri-state area. The duo has allowed Mitchell County 4-H to promote fundraisers, various programs, and congratulatory wishes for 4-H’ers over the years.
The station was nominated for the GAE4-HA Outstanding Support by Public Media Award by Debra Cox, Mitchell County Extension 4-H Educator. The judging committee for GAE4-HA chose WQLI for the award which was based on communication activities (35%), scope of the media including size, length, and audience (15%), plus purpose and results (50%). GAE4-HA is a professional organization for 4-H Agents, Educators, and Program Assistants. WQLI is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the 4-H activities and events are promoted in a timely manner and we are thankful for their support.
