There will be a lot of excitement on Christmas morning for numerous children in Decatur County. Each year some of the Decatur County DFCS staff travels to Atlanta to collect gifts that were donated through the Howard Clark Secret Santa Toy Drive. This event that takes place every year, along with the many donors in the community makes it possible for the Department of Family and Children Services to serve over 60 children this Christmas season. Jackie Bridges, the Director of Decatur County DFCS was overwhelmed at the generosity of this community.

“I have worked on this program for over 20 years and this has been one of the best Secret Santa Christmas programs that we have ever had. This year has been a struggle for so many families and with all the negativity around the world, this effort by so many brought with it the kindness and humanity that we all needed to bring 2020 to a close and to celebrate Christmas by giving to those in need. The foster children in Decatur have been truly blessed so on behalf of those children, their families, their caregivers and this department, we want to give our most sincere thanks. I want to give a special thanks to Thomas Trucking, The County Commissioners, Care 360, The Bridge Medical Group, Riverbend Ford, First Baptist Church in Colquitt, Port City Timbers, Faceville Baptist Church, Morningside Baptist, Alapaha Transport, The Farmer’s Wife, Kicks and James Robinson TKD, Grimsley Pharmacy , Mike Floyd Paving and Christie’s Portable Restrooms, and the numerous individuals of Decatur County who made this possible. ”
