He graduated from Bay County High School, Class of 1947, and went on to serve in the United States Navy. During World War II, Henry served in the South Pacific, on a bikini truck in Guam, and several other islands in the Pacific. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Byrd Mack; and his siblings, Evelyn Harris and Recho Mack.
