Memories Car Club held a cruise-in at Boyd’s Barbeque this past weekend, as a part of their fundraiser for needy families this Thanksgiving. People came from the surrounding areas, including Chattahoochee and Cairo, to get a look at the classic cars, as well as to participate in a raffle. The grand prize for said raffle was a Yeti gift bag filled with over $600 in car-related gifts, including $100 in gas cards and two oil changes from Skeeter Creek Automotive. The club sold a total of 127 tickets at the event, with Donna Barber being the winner.

Denise Webb praised the good work the car club members were doing in the community.

“It’s all about teamwork in our club,” she said. “We can’t get every family, but if we know, we can at least check them out… When you go out to help these people and see the tears in their eyes, you know you’ve done a good job.”

In addition to the food donations the club has provided (with the donation table having been emptied and refilled three times already,) the club will also be providing turkeys, with Russell Boyd preparing them the day before Thanksgiving. Webb herself has even made five sweet potato pies to give out on Thanksgiving.

Donna Barber, who was not present at the fundraiser when she won the raffle, gave some positive words about the work when she received the gift basket.

“God is so good, and there are so many good people that step up to help. So many in Bainbridge that step up and go unnoticed.”
