Grace Christian Academy’s first football season came to an end Friday, with the Cougars losing to Twiggs 14-16.
Leading the team with rushing was #1, Evan Wood. Providing support were #8, John Bryan; #11, Cooper Jenkins; and #22 Joshua Enfinger. Hayden Cohen and Wyatt Carpenter, #10 and #33 respectively, both scored touchdowns. Pate Beckham, #55, made five tackles that night.
Coach Lance Godwin weighed in on both the game and the season as a whole. “Defensively we played our best game all season…. It is sad to lose this great group of seniors, but they set the groundwork for what we hope is a great tradition. I couldn’t be more proud of what this group accomplished in this first year ever of football. The school, boosters, and coaching staff can’t wait for next season and the future of our program.”
