Glenna Strickland Harrell, age 92, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia.  Services for Mrs. Harrell were held at 11:00 am, Thursday, November 12, at Morningside Baptist Church.  Rev. Jimmy Dean and Rev. Tim Harrell officiated.  The service concluded at the church.  Glenna was buried in New Fountainhead Cemetery beside her late husband, J. D. Harrell.  The family received friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00 am.

In accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending were asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing and to wear protective masks. 

Glenna Strickland was born May 11, 1928 in Grady County, Georgia.  Her parents, C. H. Strickland and Jimmie Lou Dodson Strickland, have preceded her in death.  She married the love of her life, John Daniel (J. D.) Harrell December 2, 1949.  They were married 69 years before J.D.’s death, September 2018.  Glenna loved working in her yard, especially in her lilies and picking her blueberries.  She and J.D. provided a comfortable, loving, Christian home for their children. She knew how to be stern, but her children always felt her deep love.  She adored being a grandmother and enjoyed every minute spent with the grands and great grands.  Glenna was a charter member of New Fountainhead Baptist Church.

Glenna Harrell is survived by her children, Johnny Harrell and wife, Felecia of Climax, Georgia and Janice Martin and husband, Randy of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Danyelle Griffin (Chad), Elizabeth Watson (Guy), Kristina Martin (Dana), and Amber Geisler (Ronnie); great-grandchildren, Sarah and Emmie Watson, Gannon and Gracie Griffin, and Aubree and Paxton Geisler; brother, Neil Strickland (Barbara) of Orange Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Emma Jean Bell of Climax; and companion and friend, Emma Douglas.
