Sheriff’s Office investigates truck vandalism

On Thursday, November 5, a blue four-door 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was vandalized near the intersection of Salem Church Road and Old Whigham Road in Climax, Georgia.
The vandalism caused damage to the body of the truck, along with the interior and had spray painted racial slurs on the outside of the vehicle. The damage is so extensive the truck had to be totaled.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this hate crime and is using GBI technology to assist with evidence gathering. They have increased the reward to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved.
Reward money comes from the “Decatur County Citizens Against Crime.” All the money has been donated by individuals or businesses to help aid in finding those responsible for crimes and holding them accountable.
