Envision Credit Union (Envision) is launching a community-focused campaign to benefit both small businesses and community members in the North Florida and South Georgia area. Envision recently won a $6,500 grant from Southeastern Credit Union for their work supporting local businesses at the start of COVID-19. The credit union has chosen to use this grant to promote additional support for the communities they serve by selecting 13 businesses who will each receive $500. The businesses will then use these funds to create a “tab” that will take some of the financial burden off of families who wish to continue supporting them. Individuals are now invited to visit the credit union’s website and nominate a local business they feel deserves to be selected. The winning businesses will be announced on November 23.

“Envision has maintained a strong focus on giving back to our local communities during this financially challenging time,” said Kelli Water, Vice President of Community Development at Envision Credit Union. “We recognize that people want to support their favorite businesses, but realize that many families are also struggling with reduced income right now. It is our hope that each winning business will use this $500 financial boost to offer a promotion that covers a portion of each order or provides a discount that will ease some of the costs for people who wish to continue supporting their services.”

The deadline to nominate a local business is November 10. Envision will then select the 13 winning businesses and contact them to discuss how the funds will be used. The chosen businesses will be featured on Envision’s website, along with the specifics of the special promotions they will each be running. Winning businesses will also be invited to participate in a free financial education workshop hosted by Envision and created specifically for business owners.
