The Rotary Club met this past Tuesday, with the speaker for this week’s meeting being Rotary District Governor Kirk Driskell. Driskell laid out the current goals and mission of Rotary International, while also discussing how COVID restrictions have forced Rotary clubs in other parts of the country to adjust how they meet.
Tim Cochran, superintendent of Decatur County Schools and president of the Rotary, spoke to the Post-Searchlight about how they have had to alter their meetings. Specifically, they’ve had to consider new meeting locations, now no longer able to use the Kirbo Center.
“Our current plan is to meet at the Firehouse Arts Center the 4th Tuesday of every month, and maybe have a more informal meeting somewhere on the square the 2nd of every month,” he said.
