Cross Country sprints it out at Bearcat Invitational

This past weekend, Bainbridge High School hosted the Bearcat Invitational Cross Country meet.

Starting at 8:00 a.m., teams came from Thomas County Central, Wakulla, Lowndes, Seminole, Westover, Tift, Valdosta, Dougherty, Cairo, and Grace Christian. Bainbridge Varsity Boys came in fourth place, Varsity Girls placed sixth, while Bainbridge Middle School did not have enough members present to place.

“We had too many runners out with things like strep throat,” Coach Eric Connor said. “They prepared very hard for this meet, and I think the results show it.”

Jared Davis placed sixth in Varsity Boys at 18:31.30.
Landon Watts placed twelfth in Varsity Boys at 18:55.20.
Aiden Matthews placed thirty-third in Varsity Boys at 20:51.80.
Rylan Bland placed nineteenth in Varsity Girls at 24:19.30.
Haydyn Klock placed twenty-second in Varsity Girls at 24:47.20.
Allison Oliver placed forty-third in Varsity Girls at 28:42.50.
Corbin Thompson placed sixth in Middle School Boys at 14:33.60.
Adian Angle placed seventh in Middle School Boys at 14:44.30.
Kenneth Moye placed fourteenth in Middle School Boys at 15:33.80.
Samantha Turnage placed eleventh in Middle School Girls at 18:45.20.
Gatlyn Majors placed twenty-third in Middle School Girls at 21:34.20.
Estrella Diaz placed twenty-fourth in Middle School Girls at 21:38.

This was the last run of the middle school season, while the high schoolers will compete in the region championship on October 24.
