Bainbridge Public Safety solves burglary, auto theft

On Wednesday, September 30, Bainbridge Public Safety Officer Rob Green was dispatched to the Cairo Auto Mart on Dothan Road in reference to a burglary which had already occurred.
Upon arrival, Green was told that someone had broken into the office and had located the keys to the vehicle lockbox, as well as the keys to the gate. The suspect used the keys to unlock the gate and drive out with two vehicles, a 2001 Hyundai Sante Fe and a 2006 Kia Sorento, as well as an assortment of tools and two toolboxes valued at $700.
Investigator Chris Jordan was notified about the incident and an investigation ensued. On Saturday, October 3, the two stolen vehicles, tools, and toolboxes were located at an address on Church Street. The suspect in the burglary and thefts was identified as Andrae Jachez Stewart, age 22.
Stewart was arrested and charged with three felony counts of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.
