Wayne Butler, 61, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Monday, September 21, 2020.
A private memorial service will be held at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Brock officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Cecil Wayne Butler was born July 11, 1959 in Bainbridge, the son of Cecil and Carolyn Wright Butler. Wayne married Melody Donner and they made their home in Decatur County. He drove a truck for SOWEGA Cotton and was Baptist by faith.
Wayne loved everything about the outdoors: fishing, hunting, riding trails, gardening and grilling. Wayne enjoyed growing his own vegetables then showing off his skills cooking for family and friends. His sense of humor kept everyone in stitches with his stories and wisecracks. Family time was precious, and those memories will be forever cherished.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Melody Butler; his children, April & Shawn Lewis of Adel, Ga., Felix & Vanessa Butler of Colquitt, Ga., Sheree & Bo Bartlett of Hogansville, Ga., Chris & Sandie Smith also of Hogansville, and Michael & Leah Smith of Newnan, Ga.; his brother, Andy Butler and his wife, Patricia, of Bushnell, Fla.; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Butler.
