Lisa Diane Isler was born June 20, 1962 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Chippy and Sybil Weathersby Isler. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1980. She married Robert French Long and they made their home in places as near as Florida and as far away as Germany, Asia, and New Mexico. She was a member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church.
Described as “the calming force”, Lisa was never cross and never stayed mad. Her sweet spirit was like a magnet for people and animals that needed to be rescued. Her favorite projects were rescue cats although she loved all animals. Lisa enjoyed the outdoors and never passed up a fishing trip. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She spent hours repurposing & refinishing “vintage” decorations and of course, crafting. (Lisa’s wreaths were works of art.) Without a doubt, her children and grandchildren filled her heart with pure love and joy unspeakable.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Robert French Long, Sr.; her children, Robbie & Mia Long of Byron, Ga. and Shane & Gina Long of Metter, Ga.; her mother, Sybil Isler; her siblings, Lee & Lora Isler of Hiram, Ga. and Ann & John Young of Ohio; and her grandchildren, Rob, Savannah, and Christin. Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Chippy Lee Isler.
