Fred Daniel Broome, 83, of Cairo, Ga., passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga., on Sunday, July 12, 2020. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Family Worship Center, Cairo. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. Military Honors will be presented at the church. Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo.

Mr. Broome was born on April 21, 1937, in Calvary, Ga., to the late Clyde L. Broome and Pearlie Mae Lowe Broome. On March 24, 1957, he married Iva Nell Whiddon Broome, who survives. They were married for 63 years. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired after 20 years of service in the military. Later he worked with the Torrington Company as an electronic technician for 15 years until he retired. He was a charter member of Family Worship Center in Cairo, where he was an administration council elder and church treasure since its inception.

Survivors include: his wife, Iva Nell Broome of Cairo; son, Fred Daniel Broome, Jr. (Jenni) of Cairo; grandchildren, Fred Daniel Broome, III, (Destiny) of Cairo, Elisabeth Quay Broome of Cairo, Julia Danielle Harrison (Bennett) of Tifton, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Iva Grace Broome, Emma Rae Broome, both of Cairo; and a brother, Ronnie Allen Broome (Kay) of Montgomery, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents.
