June 22, 2020

Charles Wilburn “Chuck” Stafford, 77, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Monday, June 22, 2020.

Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery in Samson, AL. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Charles Wilburn Stafford was born on October 28, 1942 in Samson, Ala., the son of John Wilbur Stafford and Erline Phillips Stafford.  Chuck worked for Erickson Forklift Company in Albany, Ga. for 30 years.  Anyone that knew Chuck, knew he could talk non-stop.  He could reminisce about all the things that happened over time with the family, just like they happened yesterday.  Chuck could get lost in the TV watching his favorite shows around the clock. The Alabama Crimson Tide was always on during football season and he never missed the opportunity to watch his favorite classic movies like Dragnet, Boston Blackie and Charlie Chan just to name a few. Chuck will be sadly missed by his loving sister, Jean Pyle.

Survivors include his sister, Jean and Virgil Pyle of Donalsonville. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Leon Rodenberger; and his cat, Tokey.

A special thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Archbold Hospital and to Donna Spooner and Belita Bolton who provided invaluable care for Chuck.
