A couple of days after a local hero rescued three people from a potentially fatal house fire in Bainbridge, a woman from Jacksonville created a GoFundMe page to help alleviate some of the financial burden of his medical bills.
Chianti Bryant, 18, recently helped three people escape from their burning apartment. As a result of running into the smoke filled building, Bryant had to be transported by EMS to Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation treatment.
Valerie Herring, a stranger to Bryant, recognized the expenses that come with ambulance trips and hospital treatments after reading about his heroic story. Herring started a GoFundMe page with a goal of $5,000 to help Bryant cover his medical expenses and as a token of honor for his humane actions.
“The old saying, ‘no good deed goes unpunished’ comes to mind,” says Herring.
Herring encourages people to donate to this cause as a demonstration of love and appreciation for Bryant’s bravery.
