It’s good to be back

After three long months of working part-time at home, I am finally back at the Post Searchlight in person – still part-time. But it is like the first day on a new job.

Some system changes have been made and I have forgotten most of my passwords. The computer is different from the one I worked on at home.

Staying at home was not too stressful for me, but I developed some bad habits, like going to bed late and sleeping in a bit most mornings. Many days I stayed in my PJ’s.

I baked many goodies during my time at home and ate most of them. Consequently, I have added a few inches to my waistline. Sitting around reading didn’t help much. I read a lot of books, worked pages and pages of crossword puzzles, and did the usual household chores. My doggies were glad to have me home and they have become totally spoiled. My husband and I got along pretty well. There weren’t any major disagreements or temper tantrums. Actually, I think we both realized how fortunate we are to have each other in these questionable times.

Any newspaper work was accomplished by phone and emailed in, as well as reading pages that were emailed to me for corrections.

Let me just say I am glad to be back. I have missed my coworkers and all the friends I came in contact with while working. I was definitely isolated at home.

It is great to once again get up, take a shower, fix my hair, put on some makeup and dress up a little. I look and feel almost human again.

I hope all of  you out there are doing the same.
