Superintendent Tim Cochran is looking forward to the Class of 2020’s commencement ceremony on Saturday morning at Centennial Field.
He wants to remind everyone that there are three access points to enter graduation. Guests can enter through the new field entrance on Louise Street, the back gate on the home side of the bleachers and the back gate on the visitor side of the bleachers. However, the side entrance will be shutdown to all for the social distancing of graduates before they enter onto the field. Parking will be available on the grass lot, along with the side streets for all in attendance.
Cochran wants to remind everyone to please maintain social distancing. The faculty will not be shaking hands with any of the graduates, and they will dismiss the students off the field to go gather with their parents at an alternate location.
No one other than graduates and faculty will be allowed on the field, and he asks that large group pictures not be taken on the field afterward either.
“Please do not mingle and try and abide by CDC guidelines,” Cochran said.
In the event of rain, the school does not have an alternate plan. Cochran is hoping for sunshine and a great morning to celebrate the graduating class.
