William Lester Brown, 56, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Friday, June 5, 2020.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside funeral service will be held at Cool Springs Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Ausburn and Rev. Lonzy Harrison, Jr. officiating.

Lester was born October 7, 1963, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Roy Lester Brown, Jr. and Janie Lou Hawthorn Brown. He worked as a Correctional officer with Decatur County Prison and was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Whigham. Lester enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he most definitely loved watching his beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
Survivors include his wife of 6 years, Lisa Brown; his daughters, Stephanie McCook and her husband, Kevin, of Bainbridge and Ni’jala Jackson, also of Bainbridge; his sons, Luke Brown and Cervantes Jackson, both of Bainbridge; his step-sons, Andrew Scott, and his fiancé, Taylor Clark, of Bainbridge and Matthew Logue, also of Bainbridge; his grandson, Easton McCook; his granddaughters, Chloe McCook, Kelsey McCook, and Oaklynn Scott; his mother, Jaine Brown and her partner, Willard Sholar, of Climax; his best friend brother, Chris “Bubba” Moore and his wife, Melisa, of Climax; his best friend brother, Jack Ingram, of Faceville; and his life-long friend, Pamela Jackson, of Bainbridge. In addition to his father, Lester was preceded in death by his first wife of 27 years, Deborah Brown, and his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. WA Hawthorn and Mr. & Mrs. Roy L. Brown, Sr.
