Charles Thurman Smith was born March 6, 1954 in Miller County, Ga., the son of Rudolph “Doc” & Lucille Smith. Charles lived most of his life in Southwest Georgia though he and his wife, Roxanne, spent several years in North Georgia. Charles retired from Barco and was a member of The Church of Grady County.

Work was part of every day for Charles and he gave every endeavor 110% effort. He was a stickler for being on time though it came with its challenges, mainly Roxanne. Charles enjoyed fishing, Georgia football and Georgia baseball. He was a fantastic cook. Family noted chicken & rice, squash & onions, and cornbread were some of their favorites from his recipes.

Survivors include his wife, Roxanne Davis Smith of Donalsonville; his children, Jamie Charles Smith (Stephanie) of Cairo, Ga., Christy Smith Bradley (Chris) of Thomasville, Ga., and Heather Denae Angstadt of Santa Cruz, Ca.; his grandchildren, Jessica, Jonathon, and Caleb; and his puppies, Shasta and Cocoa.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his loyal canine companion, Daisy.
