Sara Elizabeth Black was born August 29, 1949 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Harvin Black and Sarah Wilona Eakin Black. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and Bainbridge College. Libby retired from the City of Bainbridge Leisure Services. She was a member of West Bainbridge United Methodist Church.

As part of a large family, Libby understood the unique dynamics of each personality. She loved her children and her nieces & nephews with an unbridled passion. “Miss Libby”, as she was known to many in the surrounding area, had a heart of gold. She was a giver by nature, never asking for anything in return and always putting the needs of others before herself. Working at Leisure Services was perfect for being in the background but making sure all the details were in order. “Miss Libby” took special care of “her guys” in that department and made sure every child that wanted to play sports had an opportunity. Her love language was crocheting; friends and family alike have many beautiful examples of her handiwork. Her sweet spirit will be remembered in the little things she left behind.

Survivors include her children, Harvin Willis, Kimberly & Robert Perry, and Roger Willis, all of Bainbridge; her parents, Harvin & Ann Black of Thomasville, Ga.; her siblings, Martha & Donnie Ponder of Whigham, Ga., Carol Clark of Perry, FL, Threasa & Greg Hall of Bainbridge, Levenia & Doyle Merkison of Orange Park, FL, Kathy & Mark Maxwell of Whigham, , Tony & Cheryl Black of Cairo, Ga., and Teresa & Todd Dunn of Bainbridge; and her many nieces and nephews. Libby was preceded in death by her mother, Wilona Moore; her brother, Jonathan Black; and the father of her children, Lamar Willis.
