Marfa Strickland Donaldson, 83, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family in Bainbridge, on Saturday, March 7, 2020. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, 2020, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Mrs. Donaldson was born on April 4, 1936, in Whigham, Ga., to the late George L. Strickland, Sr. and Leola Glover Strickland. She married Billy Donaldson, who survives. They were married for over 65 years. She was office manager for Bates and Associates for many years. She also worked for the Decatur County Clerk’s Office for over 27 years. Marfa enjoyed being outside in her flower gardens and loving on her puppy, Bandit. She loved being with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: her husband, Billy Donaldson of Bainbridge; son, Wayne Donaldson (Diane) of Ball Ground, Ga.; grandchildren, Heather Ferris (Pete) of Ball Ground, Holley Makela (Taylor) of L’Anse, Mich., Khelee Sawyer (Jake) of Ball Ground; great-grandchildren, Hollynd Makela of L’Anse, Ronin Makela of L’Anse, Lilly Sawyer of Ball Ground, Liam Ferris of Ball Ground; sister, Jean Frye of Interlachen, Fla.; brother, Tim Strickland of Tampa, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Freida Sandefur, Ann Smith, Sandra Houston; and brothers, Georgie L. Strickland, Jr., Don M. Strickland.
