Vivian Murphy Darley, 79, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Friday, January 31, 2020.

 

The graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Roberts and Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Vivian Bunice Murphy was born February 12, 1940 in Decatur County, Ga., the daughter of Milton Orion and Grace Mavis Parks Murphy.  Vivian was all about family.  She loved surrounding herself with the laughter of loved ones around the dinner table. She always insisted on preparing huge, delicious meals and made sure everyone ate until they were about to pop.  She married Bob C. “Bobby” Darley Jr. in July of 1957 and they spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2012.  Her favorite ways to pass the time were fishing, playing the piano and spending time with her faithful companion, Skeeter.

Survivors include her children, Mark Darley and his wife, Linda, Kim NeSmith and her husband, Jerry, and Penny Heard and her husband, Trent; her grandchildren, BJ Lashley, Jerry Allen NeSmith, Kristen Darley, Ciera Darley, Laban Rackley, and Graham Rackley; and her great-grandchildren, Hunter NeSmith, Ryan NeSmith, and Haley NeSmith.  In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Bob C. “Bobby” Darley Jr.; her siblings, Dewitt Murphy, Mrytle Martin, and Hicks Murphy; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Swift and Matthew NeSmith.
