SwimCats perform well at Lee County Invitational

In a field of over 300 swimmers and 22 teams, the SwimCats placed ninth at the Lee County Trojan Invitational on January 11, 2020.  According to Coaches Chambers, Durham and Conner, many of Saturday’s swimmers compete year round at the club level, yet the SwimCats set many personal bests or maintained their times.  Due to the size of the field of swimmers, points were awarded through sixteenth place. Although the competition was fierce, the coaches are very pleased with the results.

For the Swim Cats,  Blake Lowe placed 7th in the 500 freestyle, Griffin Perkins placed 16th in the 200 I.M. and 13th in the 100 butterfly, Dax Willis placed 15th in the 100 backstroke and 14th in the 100 breaststroke.

In the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Dax Willis, Griffin Perkins, Hayden Martin, and Blake Lowe placed 11th.  In the 200 free relay, the team of Blake Lowe, Hayden Martin, Dax Willis, and Austin Aldridge placed 14th,  In the 400 free relay, the team of Joe Emmons, Brenden Mitchell, Stokes Moore, and Austin Aldridge placed 8th.

For the Lady SwimCats, Sandy Baker placed 11th in the 100 butterfly and 14th in the 100 backstroke, Rylan Bland placed 14th in the 500 freestyle, Maloree Inlow placed 9th in the 100 breaststroke,  Ramsey Mathews placed 15th in the 200 freestyle and 12th in the 100 backstroke,  Paige Overman placed 12th in the 200 I.M. and 5th in the 500 freestyle, and Alex Riche placed 13th in the 100 butterfly.

In the 200 medley relay, the team of Ramsey Mathews, Paige Overman, Sandy Baker, and Madison Mills placed ninth, and the team of SarahGrace Ferrell, Maloree Inlow, Alex Riche, and Rylan Bland  placed sixteenth.  In the 200 free relay, the team of Ramsey Mathews, Paige Overman, Sandy Baker and Madison Mills placed 10th. In the 400 free relay, the team of Madalyn Yancey, Rylan Bland, SarahGrace Ferrell, and Alex Riche placed 9th.

The SwimCats will be in action again Wednesday, January 22 in Thomasville.
