Ronnie Marshall Eckenrod Sr. left his earthly home in Bean Station, Tenn. to reunite with his son on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. He was 79 years old. Born June 19, 1940 in Elkin, N.C. to Robert Clay and Beulah Wright Eckenrod, he was the youngest of five sons. In 1958, he was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force and Married Lillian Cloud to settle in Bainbridge, Ga. to raise four children. He became a lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan and an avid deer hunter. Ronnie was retired from Flowers Baking Company in 2002. He resided in multiple states before returning to Tennessee in 2016 with his wife of 61 years. He was preceded in death by son, Robert; mother, Beulah; and his four brothers, Clay, Norton, Jerry, and Alvin Eckenrod. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Lillian C. Eckenrod; children, Kelley (Gary) Wilson, Ronnie Jr. “Bubba” (Denise) Eckenrod, and Bonnie (Jim Carmichael) Eckenrod; four granddaughters, Angie Grey, Amanda Wilson, Lilli V. Eckenrod, and Jessica (Michael) Cherry; two great grandchildren, Sadie Grey and John Grey; as well as extensive family and friends across the country.

Special thanks to the Caris Hospice Organization. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, January 10th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Aaron Grey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
