Darlene Phillips was born July 4, 1961 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Connell and Shelby Jean Phillips. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1979 and a member of Climax United Methodist Church.

The mold was broken when Darlene was born. She was spunky and had great sense of humor. You could hear her coming a mile away and she always had something to share about her beloved FSU Seminoles. Darlene loved everything about antiques and all the people she met while “junkin”. She had quite a green thumb, growing anything from houseplants to a garden full of herbs. Loving and caring were two words that many used to describe Darlene. As a wife, mother and lifelong member of the Climax Community, this one-of-a-kind woman leaves a legacy of love along with her highly coveted crocheted blankets.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, John S. “J.C.” Collins; her daughter, Jennifer Collins; her siblings, Mike & Eva Phillips of Brinson, Ga.; Letha Barber of Cedar Grove, Terry & Suzanne Phillips of Climax, Ga., Sandra & Israel Guerra of Tennessee, and Mark Phillips also of Climax, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Phillips.
