Bainbridge (6-3, 1-2 Region) saw a return to form last Friday night on the road against Harris County, dominating in every area of the game for a 68-14 win.

Momentum is on the Bearcats side. The key is to keep that rolling Friday against Thomas County Central and on into the playoffs.

“We got the win last week, so we want to practice well and go into this football game, win this football game and keep the momentum rolling going into the playoffs,” said coach Jeff Littleton. “You never want to go into the playoffs with a loss.”

The Yellow Jackets (5-4, 0-3 Region) haven’t won a region game, but have been in every game they’ve played so far. They at one time had a lead on Warner Robins, Harris County and Veterans despite losing each of those games.

Littleton emphasized how much TCC had improved since its meeting with Bainbridge last season. He challenged his players to step up and play against a team hungry for a playoff spot.

“They are going to fight, and they are going to be in the game,” said Littleton. “They are going to come out and fight you because they are playing for a playoff spot. We have to make sure that we keep the gas on. Gas on, no breaks is what we’ve been talking about.”

The Yellow Jackets run a spread offense led by quarterback Kalique Guyton, who has 1,713 passing yards and 15 touchdowns on the season. Guyton also leads the team in rushing with 435 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Linebacker Ra’Shun Jackson leads the defense with 62 solo tackles and 28 assists.

The winner of Friday’s game will go on the road to play the winner of the Griffin-Riverdale game in Region 3.

Bainbridge kicks off against TCC this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Field.
