At the Tuesday night meeting of the Bainbridge City Council, Mayor Edward Reynolds had the privilege and honor of swearing-in several new Bainbridge Public Safety Engineers, Firefighters, and Officers.
Engineer Michael Jenkins has been working with Public Safety since December of 2014 and Engineer Jeff Kelly has been working with Public Safety since March of 2015. Fire Chief Doyle Welch stated, “Jenkins and Kelly are some of the best Engineers you will find and we are very fortunate to have them on our Public Safety team. Even though they have been working alongside us for several years, neither had ever officially been sworn-in as Bainbridge Public Safety Officers.”
Marcus White came to Public Safety in the spring of this year and is a recent graduate of the Georgia Fire Academy. He is currently serving as a Firefighter in Training with the Public Safety Department. Colby Swicord and Greg Brown began working with Public Safety as Firefighters in a part-time capacity several months ago. Both Swicord and Brown split their time between Public Safety and Decatur County Fire and Rescue.
The Public Safety Department also welcomed Shelby Gale at Tuesday night’s meeting. Gale is serving as a part-time law enforcement officer with Bainbridge Public Safety. Director Jerry Carter stated, “We have some fine officers, firefighters, and engineers who have joined and are now serving in our department. Tuesday night’s swearing-in ceremony made these individuals official, and we are happy to have them on our team.”
