Dorothy Diane Rust was born August 7, 1932 in Denver, Co., the daughter of Edward and Florence Bishop Mericle. After high school, Dorothy took college classes knowing full well she would always do her own thing. She married Harry Weathersby and they made their home in southwest Georgia. She was United Methodist by faith.
Dorothy had an eclectic personality evidenced by her hobbies. She loved people, cats, playing cards and reading. The library was a place she felt comfortable knowing she would meet new people while being surrounded by volumes she could enjoy at her leisure. Bridge was a way to keep her skills sharp, find out what made people tick and enjoy the fellowship all at once.
Survivors include her children, Ellen D. Davis, and her husband, Glenn, of Tallahassee, Fl., Jeff Weathersby and Scott Weathersby, both of Bainbridge, Clarence Murphy of Hattisburg, MS, and Trisha Jordan, also of Tallahassee, Fl.; her brother, Michael D. Lewis of Broomfield, Co.; her grandchildren, Matt, David, Miranda, Nicholas and Hannah; and her great-grandchildren, Mason, Ivy, Case, Jasper and Regan. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Weathersby; and her grandson, Bryan Davis.
