Bainbridge Public Safety Officer Ladaric Jones pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop Thursday afternoon, which led to a foot chase and the arrest of Patrice Parrish for possession of methamphetamines.

Jones pulled over driver, Brandon Thornton as he was arriving at the apartment of Parrish. As Jones approached Thornton’s vehicle he noticed two large mason jars of marijuana in the console. Jones called for backup. While calling for assistance, Thornton fled on foot.

Jones began to chase Thornton, but eventually lost sight of him. When Jones arrived back at Thornton’s vehicle, he noticed one of the mason jars was missing and turned his attention to Parrish, who insisted she did not take it.

Investigator Chip Nix arrived on scene and also began to question Parrish. They asked for consent to search her vehicle and her apartment to which she agreed.

Upon searching, officers found methamphetamines, but were unable to locate the marijuana.

Parrish was arrested, however officers have taken out warrants on Thornton and he is still at large. Anyone who knows of Thornton’s whereabouts are asked to contact BPS.
