On Tuesday, September 17, Ronnie Burke, Decatur County Family Connection Director, updated Decatur County Lions Club members on the many programs his organization oversees.

In addition to its designated contribution, the Lions Club, as well as its individual members, support several of the activities under the Family Connection umbrella with financial contributions and through personal involvement in their events.  Following Mr. Burke’s presentation, club president Chuck Lewis presented him a check for $400.00, which is the club’s annual contribution for the Back Pack Program

The Decatur County Lions Club is able to support Lions Club International, local community projects and individuals through its primary fundraiser of selling Boston Butts  The butts are smoked every year on the Friday before Memorial Day and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  Tickets are now on sale for $25.00 each, and can be purchased from any club member or by calling 246-4238.
