Lady Cats softball falls to 4-12 on season after loss to Harris County

Bainbridge softball had a tough time generating runs on Saturday, dropping its game with Harris County 11-2.

Harris County fired up the offense in the first inning. Lexie Delbrey threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Harris County.

Harris County pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Catherine Barefield homered on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs.

Harris County scored five runs in the fifth inning. Harris County’s big inning was driven by singles by Sydney Stewart and Zoe Willis.

Willis led things off on the rubber for Harris County. She surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one.

Delbrey started the game for Bainbridge. She went four and a third innings, allowing ten runs on eight hits and striking out nine. Emily McCullough threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

Taralyn Brown, Halle Cannon, Anna-Beth Bibby, and Delbrey each collected one hit to lead the Lady Cats.

Harris County collected eight hits. Brianna King and Barefield each managed multiple hits for Harris County.

Bainbridge hosted Thomas County Central Tuesday night and will head to Warner Robins next Tuesday. Oct. 1 for a doubleheader.
