Get ready for all your favorite rides and fair foods, as the Flint River Fair returns Tuesday, October 1 at the Earle May Boat Basin.
A longstanding family favorite, the fair provides fun for everyone and will last through Saturday, October 5.
Guests can begin purchasing presale unlimited armbands now through October 1 at local banks, credit unions, pharmacies and the Chamber of Commerce. However, the presale armbands are only good for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The presale armband will cost $20 and presale gate admission costs $4. Those who purchase the armband at the gate will be charged $25 and admission will cost $5.
Guests can also participate in the BOGO Coupon night on Wednesday. BOGO coupons are also available at all the local banks, credit unions, pharmacies and Chamber of Commerce. The coupon allows for guests to purchase one $25 armband and get another one free, but it cannot also be used with a presale armband.
With the traditional, returning favorite rides, the fair is also offering a few new and exciting events this year.
On Tuesday from 6- 8 p.m., children can come meet their favorite characters at the fair. The Chamber of Commerce has partnered with a local company that will bring heroes such as Spiderman and Paw Patrol, along with favorites like Princess Elsa, Ana, Princess Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel and additional characters, the LOL doll and Branch the Troll.
Friday night will offer a laser light show that brings choreographed lasers to fun family-friendly songs for audiences of all ages.
Chamber President, Lauren Minor said they have wanted to add additional entertainment to the fair for a while, and they believe the laser light show will provide entertainment for families and individuals to enjoy.
Minor said although the light show has not happened yet, everyone seems excited about the addition based on social media posts.
The show will have three scheduled times and last approximately 30 minutes each. The first show is from 7:30- 8 p.m. The second show is from 8:30 p.m.-9 p.m. and the final show is from 9:30 p.m.- 10 p.m.
Finally on Saturday the Bainbridge High School Band will perform. Minor said going forward with the fair, they want to involve the community as much as possible and they thought having the band would provide another source of entertainment they haven’t had in the past and be enjoyable for all.
Minor hopes to see everyone out at the fair this year and make it the best one yet. Gates open at 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
