Silver Lining charity event to benefit Cloud Kirbo

For Cloud Kirbo, Friday was no ordinary day; it was Day Zero- the day he received his stem cell transplant.

The transplant is expected to slow the progression of Kirbo’s recently diagnosed Krabbe Disease. Over the next few weeks, doctors and nurses will monitor Kirbo to make sure he has no adverse reactions and that everything is moving forward as expected. Once his absolute neutrophil counts are over 500 for three days in a row, the transplant will be deemed as a success.

While the family is beyond thankful for this miracle, they have incurred $700,000 in medical bills. The community has hosted a variety of fundraisers and given donations to help with these expenses, but on Saturday, October 5, everything will come together for one large charity benefit to honor Cloud.
