Bearcat X-C zips to seventh place finish in Tallahassee

The Bearcats cross-country team claimed seventh place out of 22 teams last Saturday at the Dueling Summits 5K in Tallahassee. Nearly 300 runners competed in the boys varsity race.

Coming in 17th overall and first for Bainbridge was Stokes Moore, who clocked in at 18:50.29 and gave the Bearcats a major advantage up front.

Coming in 60th and just under two minutes behind Moore was Landon Watts, who crossed the finish line at 20:42.35. Jared Davis was only a few runners behind, clocking in at 20:48.93 for 66th place.

Hunter Harris came in at 21:45.80, and Kendall Glover was 10 seconds later with a time of 21:55.54. Aiden Matthews came in at 22:17.99 and Tom Emmons crossed the finish line at 22:48.30. Joe Emmons came in at 24:23.18, neck-and-neck with teammate Angel Guzman who clocked in at 24:24.20.

Ashton Matthews came in at 24:36.29, followed by Hunter Matthews at 24:47.79 and DeZhreon Donaldson at 24:54.97. Donye Mills clocked a 25:46.45, Titus Porter came in at 26:47.42 and Thomas Brock finished at 27:22.85. Johnathon Farrington came in a couple seconds later at 27:24.00.

Juan Escamilla Sotuyo crossed the finish line at 28:10.11, Mariovan Dominguez came in at 28:23.96, Joshia Fillingame clocked in at 31:16.79 and Hayden Martin finished at 31:54.83.

The Bainbridge Lady Cats finished 18th place in the girls varsity 5K with many strong performances.

Rylan Bland led the way for the Lady Cats with a time of 25:57.54. Behind her was Raidyn Oliver with a time of 32:09.55, Kayla Braswell with a time of 36:58.17, Sara Matthews with a time of 38:13.10, Katelyn Miller with a time of 38:23.33 and Olevia Diaz with a time of 41:09.05.
