Calling all survivors—Singletary Oncology Center seeking models for 2019 Pink Affair

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women other than skin cancer. It’s the second-leading cause of cancer death, and about one in eight women will develop the disease in their lifetime. The disease consistently remains one of the most common cancers treated at Archbold’s Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center.

On October 24, 2019, Archbold’s Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center will host the eighth annual Pink Affair, a benefit fashion show featuring local cancer survivors. A celebration honoring the models will follow the fashion show with food and live music. The presenting sponsor for the event will be Thomasville Toyota. Proceeds from the event will help cover the cost for patients to utilize Paxman Scalp Cooling technology, a new treatment that helps prevent chemo-induced hair loss for qualifying patients undergoing chemotherapy.

“The Pink Affair is an event our cancer survivors look forward to every year,” said Karen Bailey, patient navigator at Archbold’s Singletary Oncology Center. “They enjoy celebrating with their fellow cancer survivors and our entire community. We highly encourage any cancer survivor in our community, regardless of the type of cancer, to participate as a Pink Affair model. It’s such a fun and special time for everyone involved.”
