Novelene Grace Holloway was born September 14, 1932 in Lindale, Ga., the daughter of Christopher and Maudie Nunis Holloway. She married Ralph Massey and spent the last 56 years in Bainbridge, moving from Columbus, Ga. Novelene retired from Thomas & Betts and was a member of Christian Faith Church.

Novelene lived a simple life and always put others ahead of herself. She served God first, then her family and church family. Novelene practiced being the hands and feet of Jesus to everyone she encountered. She was a fantastic cook specializing in chocolate cakes and good ol’ fashioned hoecakes. She even made her own chocolate syrup. Novelene invited everyone to sit at her table and taste the grace she served with each of her meals.

Survivors include her children, Keith Massey and Melissa Massey Whitaker and her husband, Girard, all of Bainbridge; her siblings, Jeanette & Billy Jacks of Chickamauga, Ga. and Lavoughn Holloway of Ringgold, Ga.; her grandsons, Bryan Massey and Jordon Massey; and her great-grandchildren, Tye Massey and Violet Sky Massey. In addition to her parents, Novelene was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Massey; and her grandson, Eric Ralph Massey.
