Mr. Charles Long Sr., 70, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Knight and Rev. Bobby Whittaker officiating. Interment followed at Mothers Home Church Cemetery with Marty Guy Jr, Michael Long, Austin Long, Logan Long, Khalin McAnelly, Caleb Long, Dylan Friare and Timothy Long serving as active pallbearers. Visitation was Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Flat Creek Church.
Mr Charles was retired from the logging business and a member of Mothers Home Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lottie Adams Long of Colquitt; two sons, Charles (Karen) Long Jr and Nick (Brittany) Long, both of Dothan; one daughter, Charleane Davis of Colquitt; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Martha (Lynwood) Blackburn of Lake Talquin, Fla., Diane (Weyman) Salter of Albany, Kay (Bobby) Spriggs of Bainbridge, Karen (Jack) Davis of Bainbridge, Marylyn (Gene) Kempton of Newton and Donna Long of Bainbridge; one brother, Wendell (Nita) Long of Newton and a large number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Custer and Margaret Mae Knight Long; two sons, Charles Eugene Long, Clayton Long; one daughter, Christina Long; two brothers, Kenneth Long, Truett Long; one sister, Deborah Long and two grandchildren, Brandon Donalson and Erica Friare.
Colquitt Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the services.
