Myrtice Wynette Culverson was born April 23, 1942 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Tommie Steven Culverson and Myrtice Lorraine Carroll Culverson.  She married James Wesley Powell in 1982. Wynette worked many years as a dietician, retiring from Donalsonville Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Always on the go, Wynette would load up for a road trip in a heartbeat. She never missed a chance to go shopping and would come home to decorate with her finds. Wynette enjoyed reading and found herself lost in her own tales of times gone by. Her family, including her friends and colleagues from the hospital, held a special place in her heart. Wynette’s children, grands and great-grands were spoiled rotten by her choice.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, James W. Powell; her children, Beth & Chuck Zotyka of Faceville, Ga., Chris Helms of Colquitt, Ga., Hayward & Kim Morris of Southside, Ala., and Dale & Dana Powell of Colquitt; her brother, Lawrence Culverson and his wife, Joyce, of Bainbridge, Ga.; her grandchildren, Brandi & Chad, Karri & Stephen, Wesley, Danielle & Steve, Josh & Brooke, Braxton, Tanner and Katie; and her great-grandchildren, Lily, Cheyne and Charley Ann. In addition to her parents, Wynette was preceded in death by her brothers, Leon Culverson and Rev. Calvin Culverson.
