Jennifer Cannon, who has operated Skincare by Jennifer at two Bainbridge locations over the past two years, is moving her business, now called J. Christine Esthetique to the building on the corner of North Broad and East Water Street recently renovated by Doug Young. She plans to reopen her expanded business there in a week.

She presented the program to Rotary this week, giving the background of her 20 years in the industry, how she began and how she has seen the business grow to the point she now has seven employees and has plans to add more in the near future.

Jennifer said she did not grow up in Bainbridge, but has many family members here and spent summers in the area. She moved back to Bainbridge eight years ago.

She began her career as a receptionist in a hair salon and went from there to train with Aveda, a famous makeup company. Then she went to school to become a certified medical esthetician. She was living in Huntsville, Ala. and helped design several spas in new hotels there, including a surgical suite at the Westin Hotel.

After moving to Bainbridge she worked as a medical esthetician for a cosmetic surgeon in Tallahassee for three years, before starting her own business in Bainbridge, first at the Henry House in 2015. Then as her business grew she moved to E. Water Street. She said her business continued to grow as she attracted customers not only from Decatur County but from surrounding counties.

She is excited about going into the historic building at 201 N. Broad and showed several before and after photos of the interior and exterior of the building. She is very happy about a loft area inside where people can go relax. There is a view to the outside that includes Willis Park. She is offering a Mom’s Day out after kids go back to school, where a customer can come in, have a treatment, relax and have a beverage of choice, including wine.

Jennifer offers an exclusive line of oils and skincare products, as well as having developed her own signature fragrance that will be available by Christmas.

She plans a grand opening for Thursday, August 22.

In closing she assured the men in the room that there are also services for men as well as gift certificates for sale.

Asked about the new name, she explained it is derived from her full name of Jennifer Christine, thus J. Christine Esthetique has become her signature.
