Mr. Jesse Reginald Hatton, age 87, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mr. Hatton were at 3 pm, Sunday, July 7, at Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. Don Gambrell officiated. The service concluded at the church. A private interment was held in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Harry Rich, Jr., Frank Hatton, John Weaver, Kenny Stavely, John Pettis, and Sonny Hatcher serving as pallbearers. The family received friends in the front vestibule of Fellowship Baptist Church, beginning at 2.
Jesse Reginald Hatton was born June 8, 1932, in Climax, Georgia. His parents, Joe Hatton and Margie Parrish Hatton, have preceded him in death. Jesse married the love of his life Margie Nell Middleton. For over 65 years he and Nell raised their family and shared their lives. Nell and Jesse loved to travel. They had a travel trailer and would be gone for months at a time. Utah, Montana, Florida, they enjoyed all their travels. Nell and Jesse spent their 65 years enjoying their lives with each other with complete devotion one for the other. Nell passed away in 2017. Jesse has missed her greatly. Jesse was an avid fisherman. Nothing made him happier than taking his grandchildren and great-grandchildren fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Army. For over 30 years Jesse supervised the Grounds and Maintenance Department for Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. He was so very proud when the new ICU and Emergency Room additions were constructed. The focus of Jesse Hatton was his family. He dearly loved each and every member. Jesse Hatton will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Jesse R. Hatton is survived by his children, Linda Gambrell and husband, Don of Brinson, Georgia, Jesse Reginald Hatton, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, and Charlotte Anderson and husband, Danny of Senatobia, Mississippi; brother, Joe Hatton; grandchildren, Rebecca Cohen and husband, Rob, Cleve Gambrell and wife, Jessica, Cody Gambrell, Seth Long, and Paul Weston Long; great-grandchildren, Myra Kathryn Cohen, Hayden Cohen, Madelyn Cohen, Avery Kate Gambrell, and Knox Gambrell. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, John Robert Hatton, and sister, Vernell Rich.
Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
