Oh, look! Braves are a joy to watch again

The Atlanta Braves are one of the most fun to watch teams in baseball right now.
For a team that got off to quite the drowsy start (getting swept by Philly in the season opener was not a good feeling) this roster is starting to produce in spectacular ways.
The moment they took the lead in the National League East, they haven’t looked back. They are a stout 4.5 games ahead of second place Philadelphia, and with a weekend series against the Mets, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Braves sweep and widen the gap even more so.
The Braves are one of the youngest teams in baseball, too, which bodes well for years to come. The front office is also keeping a tight pocket book on many of these contracts as well. Inexpensive success always feels good.
As it stands right now, I think the Braves can lock down the division and maybe even win a Division Series. If that happens, I can see the Braves putting up a strong fight against their NLCS opponent but likely coming up short, based on the youth and inexperience alone. If they can make it to the World Series, I would backflip for days.
Then, if the Braves win the World Series, the curse will be broken and the floodgates will open for all Atlanta and Georgia sports to start winning championships! The Falcons, Atlanta United (they already won one, but another would be good too!), the Hawks, all the UGA teams, Georgia Southern, and heck, let’s throw in a championship for Tech, just to keep them happy.
But it’s June. I’m a runaway train of speculation and what-ifs. Let’s just make it to the MLB All-Star Break with a win-streak, and I think that will be a good start.
