The West Bainbridge polling location will be at a new location beginning on the Nov. 5th Municipal Elections.
The School Support Center, located at 507 Martin St., will be the new location within the West Bainbridge precinct that voters will have to go to in order to vote during the 2019 Municipal Election, and through the 2020 election cycle.
The move from the Old West Bainbridge Middle School on Dothan Road was necessary because the location will need repairs due to hurricane damage. Eventually, renovations for that entire campus will begin in order to house the Board of Education administrative offices.
Decatur County Board of Elections Chairman Keith Sellars said he appreciates Decatur County School Superintendent Tim Cochran working with the Board of Elections in assisting with finding a good alternative to the old West Bainbridge polling location.
Voters registered within the West Bainbridge precinct will soon receive new precinct cards noting the new location and its address.

The Courthouse Annex, which is also the Elections Office location at 122 W. Water St., will be Decatur County’s only advance voting site beginning with the Nov. 5th Municipal Election and moving forward.
The Fairgrounds polling location will be used ONLY for Election Day voting for voters who are registered in the Fairgrounds precinct.
Advance voting for the Nov. 5th Municipal Election will begin on Monday, Oct. 14, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and conclude on Friday, Nov. 1. Saturday voting will be on Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The conference room of the Elections Office will be renovated to allow for the increased volume of voters. Furthermore, the flow of how voters will move through the voting area will be a little different because of the demands for the new voting equipment the state plans to use.
Decatur County is one of only approximately a dozen counties that will use the new voting equipment in November prior to the March 24, 2020, Presidential Preference Primary.
