Judy Marie Howell was born October 31, 1957 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Walter Scott and Mildred Ann Ingram Howell. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and attended Valdosta State College. Judy married Russell Gwan Garrison and they made their home in Decatur County. Judy served as a paraprofessional in Decatur County Schools, retiring from Bainbridge Middle School. Judy was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.
The heart of a pastor’s wife is often one filled with love and service to others. Judy took seriously her role of being the hands and feet of Jesus with the church family she adored and at her workplace where she was met with challenges daily. She enjoyed music and often escaped the woes of the world with a simple tune. Judy’s children and grandchildren were the greatest gifts given to her on this earth.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Rev. Gwan Garrison; her daughters, Cammie Peace and her husband, Jason, of Newnan, Ga., and Olivia Ramos and her husband, Bernardo, of Bainbridge; her siblings, Wallace & Rhonda Howell of Bainbridge and Joan & Greg Broxton of Mayhaw; her mother, Mildred Ingram Howell; her grandchildren, Hannah, Ava, Emme, Nicholas, and Riley; and her sister-in-law, Karen Howell of Dansville, NY. In addition to her father, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Freddie Howell.
