The Economic Development Division of Southern Regional Technical College-Bainbridge is excited to offer its first Summer Cosmetology Day Camp on Thursday, June 27, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the SRTC-Bainbridge Cosmetology Department Salon (located at 315 S. Boulevard Dr.).

Cosmetology students will teach young campers proper manicure and pedicure practices, along with techniques in braiding and curling. Summer hairstyling and healthy hair care practices will also be among the topics campers will be taught. The students are ready to share their passion for Cosmetology and give advice to youth on Cosmetology career goals. The camp is for ages 12-17 and the cost is $40 for each participant, including lunch.

The Cosmetology Department is thrilled to open its doors to the community’s youth and teach them fun and exciting skills. Whether campers are interested in a professional career in Cosmetology or simply looking for summer hairstyling tips and tricks for the upcoming school year, this camp promises to be a fun day of learning.

“I would tell young students to go in the direction of a profession they love,” said Cosmetology student, Henry Love. “I have found my direction with Cosmetology. It is an amazing career to pursue.”

For others, the Cosmetology program has taught lessons in communication and overall customer service. Taylor Love said, “It has taught me how to work well with a variety of different people within a close proximity. Cosmetology is something I thoroughly enjoy doing and that is what has kept me going towards success.”
