Mildred Joyce Evans was born May 23, 1938 in Cook County, Ga., the daughter of Clifford Lee and Mildred Joyce Owens Evans.   She was of the Episcopal faith.  Family is what mattered most to Joyce.   Surrounded by loved ones on her weekly Thursday gatherings, was the highlight of the week.  Joyce loved to hide away in romance novels, and you could always find her out in the yard digging around in her flower beds.

If you had to name one hobby that described Joyce the most, canning food would have to be it.  She often got distracted with the labors of making delicious, homemade canned foods.  Everyone wanted to taste some of her canned pickles, jellies, salsas, sauerkraut and spaghetti sauce.

Survivors include her children, Sheila Diana McIntyre Lackey and her husband, Jeffrey, of North Pole, Alaska, Carolyn Elaine McIntyre Hansen and her husband, Michael, of Ray City, Ga., Daniel Eastman McIntyre of Weaver, Al., Bobby Joe McIntyre and his wife, Virginia, of Ray City, Ga., and Kenneth Wayne McIntyre and his wife, Mary Ann, also of Ray City, Ga.; her siblings, Billy Evans and his wife, Linda, of Macon, Ga., Glenda Sirmans and her husband, Lynn Chapman, of Bainbridge, Jimmy D. Evans of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl., Jerry Lee Evans and his wife, Anita, of North Carolina, and Martha Jean Evans Roberts and her husband, Jack, of Lakeland, Ga.; her 7 grandchildren; and her 13 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Auer; and her siblings, JoAnn Evans, Clifford W. Evans I, Clifford W. Evans II, James Evans, Dewey Evans, Earnest Evans, and Charles Evans.
