Ralph Alan “Al” Pearson, 65, of St. Marys, Ga., died peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 8, 2019, after losing his battle with metastasis bladder cancer.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Reverend Leslie Dellenbarger officiating.

Ralph Alan Pearson was born January 9, 1954 in Bainbridge, Ga., the eldest son of Woodrow and Willie Florence Rich Pearson. A graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1972, Al attended Valdosta State College and received a Masters Degree in Education. His teaching career began in Camden County, Georgia where he taught school for 32 years with a focus on history and government. Al wore many hats in his life in Camden County: Boy Scout troop leader, Masonic Past Master, musician, avid reader, devoted Episcopalian, author of THE CLARION (a newsletter with a unique spin on politics), civic happenings in the community, and all around a testament to his humor. He was a member of the King of Peace Episcopal Church in Kingsland, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Rich Pearson; his daughters, Kelly Wagner and her husband, Daniel, and Jamie Land and her husband, Kris; his brother, David Pearson and his wife, Oksana; his granddaughters Madison and Caroline; and numerous cousins. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his son, Patrick McMullen; and his granddaughter, Meredith Wagner.
